1987 A team of entrepreneurs and philanthropists join forces to raise $12 million to build the largest Assisted Living Facility at the time in Florida. OUR STORY 1989 The groundbreaking ceremony for new construction begins. Residential Plaza will provide service to 350 older adults. OUR STORY 1990 Residential Plaza’s operating license is secured. First residents moved in. OUR STORY 1991 Residential Plaza strives for excellence and establishes relationships with physicians and mental health professionals for on-site visits. OUR STORY 1992 The Memory Care Program is born as the Advanced Care Program, opens to serve 36 residents with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia-related disorders. OUR STORY 1999 Assistance to the Elderly, Inc. (ATTE) is established as a as a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization to further the services provided to older adults in the community and to guarantee the sustainability of the project in the long term. OUR STORY 2000 Residential Plaza celebrates 10th year Anniversary. OUR STORY 2002 Residential Plaza’s ownership is transferred to Assistance to the Elderly, Inc. OUR STORY 2003 Residential Plaza expands its services by establishing partnerships for an on-site physical therapy and rehabilitation program. OUR STORY 2004 Rental Assistance Program starts to benefit residents to enable them to afford assisted living services. OUR STORY 2005 ATTE Clinical Staffing is established to expand home health nursing services to our residents. OUR STORY 2006 Residential Plaza joins Office of the Mayor Elder Abuse Task Force (currently known as the Mayor’s Initiative on Aging). OUR STORY 2007 Memory Care Program expands its capacity to 53 residents. OUR STORY 2010 Residential Plaza celebrates its 20-year Anniversary Gala.

2012 The Memory Care Program renovation and programmatic enhancements are selected by the Board as a priority. OUR STORY 2013 Memory Care Program Renovation Project preliminary design and fundraising are initiated. OUR STORY 2014 Memory Care Program Renovation Project begins. OUR STORY 2015 25th Anniversary Mass.
Memory Care Program implements Person-Centered Care Program.

2016 Memory Care Program Renovation Project Phase 1 is completed (14th Floor).
Memory Care Program renovation Project Phase 2 begins (13th Floor).
Montessori for Aging and Dementia Program starts to be implemented in the Memory Care Program to complement the already established Person-Centered Care Program.
