Since March 2020, the world has been navigating the new challenges presented by COVID-19. Significantly assisted living communities have gone through the scrutiny of the public eye and have been required to change how they deliver care and services to their constituents to safeguard their health.
But as months go by as we tend to get comfortable, the call is to keep our guard up, to keep reinforcing every guideline in place by local, state, and federal agencies to manage the spread of COVID-19 in our communities.
COVID-19 spreads quickly from person to person, mainly by the following routes:
- Between people who are in close contact with one another (within 6 feet).
- Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs, sneezes, breathes, sings, or talks.
People who are infected but do not have symptoms can also spread the virus to others.
Today we know that the following basic guidelines are paramount in keeping us safe:
- Use of facial mask
- Social distancing
- Hand Hygiene
- Cough Hygiene
- Avoid touching your face and eyes
- Clean and disinfect surfaces
Let us keep our guard up. Assisted living communities need your support to have the resources available to safeguard their residents and staff. Donate today to the COVID-19 Fund to enable Residential Plaza to respond to the new demands of the COVID-19 crisis, the acquisition of Personal Protective Equipment, staff contingency plan (temporary hires, overtime), food supplies, among others.
